Chocolate Cake!

Other than mentioning my obsession with tea over and over, I don't talk much about the food on any of my blogs. I'm not sure why, because the fact of the matter is that I have a love of the culinary arts that spans most of my life.

Maybe the reason cooking doesn't come up as often as technology, books, and animation is because when I bring up those other things, I believe I actually know what I'm talking about. When it comes to cooking, not so much.

But recently, I won a gift basket full of baking supplies from Whole Foods and - thanks to My Little Pony's catchy songs - I decided I was going to attempt to bake a chocolate cake from scratch.

You're sick of my storytelling and want to see the darn thing, right? Right.

Ta da!

The recipe I used is here. I also made the icing, but sadly lost track of the recipe for that. (It was a bit runny anyway.)

Overall, it tasted delicious, but here are a few tips if you decide to use this recipe:

-I'd replace some of the regular sugar with confectioner's sugar, because there was a hint of grainy texture.

-Be careful adding the boiling water, or else you're going to start to bake the cake.

-It really is a thin batter when everything is together, but don't let it worry you. It is really moist and delicious.
